Both Practice Games and Cash Games can be played in various Competitive Modes, including Heads-up, Brackets, Brawl, and Special Events, as further described below. In order to play any of the Practice Games or Cash Games, you must download the Blitz App and provide, and verify (if applicable), certain information requested by VLB, which may include personal information such as first name, last name and mobile phone number. For instructions on downloading the Blitz App, visit https://blitz-app.io/. Once you have downloaded the Blitz App and provided and verified (if applicable) the relevant information, you will then be able to access and participate in Competitive Modes.
When entering a heads-up, you will compete 1v1 against another user randomly chosen through asynchronous matchmaking (see “Matchmaking” section) between other players with a similar level who have selected to play the same game with the same entry fee.
To take part in a heads-up, a user will pay an entry-fee, as will his opponent, and they will be presented with the exact same game. Only their skill will allow a user to beat their opponent and win the prize.
The gameplays and scoring mechanisms of all games that can be played in heads-up mode are detailed in the “Games’ Details” section below.
Potential prizes are determined by the entry fee as determined and described in the Bonus and Reward section below.
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may be able to enter into a single-elimination style tournament (“Bracket”).
Each bracket will gather up to 32 players competing against each other in 1v1 matches.
To take part in a Bracket, a user will pay an entry-fee, as will all opponents entering the same contest.
The Bracket will consist of a succession of 1v1 matches starting from a round of 32, each player winning a 1v1 match being eligible to play the next round.
When a player wins a round, he advances straight away to the following round. Each player has a 24h limit to play a round ; if a player doesn’t play his round within 24h, he forfeits the round and his opponent wins the game.
Like in heads-up, each match of the Bracket mode a user is taking part in involves asynchronous match making with another user. Users competing against each other are always presented with the same game, environments, and constraints and only their skill will allow a user to beat their opponent and win the prize. Brackets are constituted on a first come first-served basis for the players who selected the same game and entry-fee.
The gameplays and scoring mechanisms of all games that can be played in Bracket mode are detailed in the “Games’ Details” section below.
Potential prizes are determined by the entry fee as determined and described in the Bonus and Reward section below.
If a bracket is not filled after 7 days, the players get the prize corresponding to the maximum position they advanced to in the bracket (for example: if you are in the finale and there is no competitor, you get the prize for 2nd place). Players who lost a round at a position with no payout won’t get any prize or refund.
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may be able to enter into a high score contest involving 3 players or more for a pmited period of time.
Each Brawl will have various levels of prizes a user can win, some of those being real-money prizes, and gather up to 50 players.
To take part in a Brawl, a user will pay an entry-fee, as will all opponents entering the same contest.
The Brawl consists of a high-score contest where 3 to 50 users are presented with the same game, environments and constraints and where players with the highest scores will be epgible to win different prizes that will be disclosed before the Competition starts. Each user will be able to enter a given Brawl only once and subsequently can’t submit more than one score in this Brawl.
Brawl are constituted through asynchronous matchmaking on a first come first-served basis for the players who selected the same game and entry-fee.
Please note that, there are no ties in such contests. If users get the same score their respective ranking will be determined based on the first ones to achieve the score.
The number of players, the prize pool, and its repartition will be set in advance and communicated to players before they enter the competition and pay an entry fee. If the number of players (up to 50) is not met after 7 days, the tournament will be canceled and all entry fees refunded to players.
From time to time VLB will organise special events and temporary contests (“Special Event(s)”). Each Special Event may include specific rules that will be disclosed at the time it is open to the players in the authorised jurisdictions, including information concerning prize payouts and the selection of winners.
Such Special Events will generally allow you to enter a timed contest against other players. Depending on the rules of each Special Event you might be able to participate an unlimited number of times or only for a limited number of times.
Players with the highest scores will be eligible to win different prizes that will be disclosed before the Special Event starts. Please note that, there are no ties in such Special Events. If users get the same score their respective ranking will be determined based on the first ones to achieve the score.
The number of players, the prize pool, and its repartition will be set in advance and communicated to players before they enter the competition and pay an entry fee. If the number of players (up to 50) is not met after 7 days, the Special Event will be canceled and all entry fees refunded to players.
Depending on your jurisdiction and the Competitive Modes available in your jurisdiction, you may be able to enter into ranked leagues (“Leagues”) allowing the best players to earn additional prizes including real-money prizes.
The leagues will be set-up weekly from Sunday to Sunday, and the potential prizes and ranking of the best players in each League will be accounced before the beginning of the league and can always be accessed in the League page in the Blitz application.
Users taking part in Cash Games can be ranked in the corresponding League based on the results of their games. Each dollar earned by a user will grant a user with one medal and the ranking of the players in each League will be based on the number of earned medals.
By entering into a competitive mode (either Heads-up, Bracket, Brawl or Special Events), you expressly acknowledge and accept that the matchmaking mechanism used by the Blitz App will try to match you with another player with the closest level to yours within a reasonable timeframe but may not be exempted from defaults and may not be able to always find the perfect match.
In this regard if no opponent is found for a user with the same [game + game-mode + entry-fee] combo, this user will wait until someone with the same characteristics is found.
Users have one hour following the start of a specific game to submit their score.
If a user willingly or unwillingly closes the Blitz App or opens the control center before finishing a game then the Blitz App will be put on hold for the time it remains in the background of the user’s device for a maximum of one hour starting from the start of the game the user was playing.
The game will be considered as a forfeit if the game is not finished within an hour after the beginning of the game the user was playing or immediately if the Blitz App is terminated willingly or unwillingly by the user.
You expressly acknowledge and accept that if you don't play within this 24 hours window, the Heads-up or Bracket will be considered as aborted/forfeit. If none of the 2 players involved in a Heads-up or Bracket round plays within this 24 hours window, both will be considered as forfeit.
For detailed information about the rules and scoring system of each game available through the Blitz App please see: https://blitz-app.io/games

If a winner cannot be verified as eligible for a prize pursuant to Section 2 of the Terms and Conditions, then such winner will be deemed to have forfeited the prize. Upon forfeiture, we may, at our option and in our sole discretion, subject to applicable law, award the prize to another entrant.

The reward granted to the winner of a Heads-up Cash Game is calculated based on the entry fee paid by the player as below. For all games, the winner of the Heads up Cash Game is defined as the player that scores the higher number of points between the two participants.
|CASH GAME REWARD
The rewards granted to the different participants in a Bracket Cash Game are calculated based on their ranking in the Bracket as detailed below. Each entrant will be placed in a Head-to-Head Game (or a series of Head-to-Head Games) to determine who advances to the next round of the Bracket Cash Game. Prize payouts will be determined by the entrant’s results in the tournament, and the last round in which the entrant participates.
For avoidance of doubt, we provide the following example, using a 32-player Bracket Cash Game for which the entry fee is $3.00 per participant. Each of the 32 participants will participate in the first round of the Bracket Cash Game, with the 16 winners advancing to Round 2. All 16 participants in Round 2 are guaranteed a prize of at least $1.50, and participate in head-to-head matchups to determine who will advance to Round 3. The eight winners of Round 2 progress onto Round 3, and are guaranteed a prize of at least $3.75, and participate in head-to-head matchups to determine who will advance to Round 4. The four winners of Round 3 progress onto Round 4, and are guaranteed a prize of at least $5.00. In Round 4, the two winning players advance to the Final Round, while the two losing players win a prize of $5.00. The winner of the Final Round wins a prize of $20.00, and the loser of the Final Round wins $8.00.

The rewards granted to the different participants in a Brawl Cash Game are calculated based on their ranking in the Brawl as detailed below. Each entrant will be ranked based on the cumulative points earned by such entrant during the course of the Brawl Cash Game. Entrants with a player position as set forth below will receive a portion of the total prizes available for the Bracket Cash Game. In the event of a Tie for a particular player position, the player who obtained the point total first shall obtain the position.
For avoidance of doubt, we provide the following example, using a $5 Brawl Cash Game in which 6 players participate. Player 1 obtains a score of 100, Player 2 obtains a score of 98, Player 3 obtains a score of 93, Player 4 obtains a score of 90, and Players 5 through 10 obtain scores below 90. Player 1 will be placed in position 1, and will be awarded the top prize of $15.00, Player 2, with the second highest score, will be placed in position 2, and will be awarded $7.00. Player 3 will be placed in position 3, and will be awarded $3.00. The remaining Players will receive no award.
